Boys Varsity Soccer · Soccer beats Murray 2-0

Another rainy soccer game, another win, another shut out.  Olympus played at Murray High School on Tuesday, April 30th.  In the first half, there were opportunities for both teams to score, but neither team found the net.  It was 0-0 at the half.  The second half started with more of the same, back an forth but no goals. Approximately midway through the second half.  The Titans were awarded a PK for a foul in the box.  Din Huremovic took the kick and put Olympus up 1-0.  Murray had a chance to get on the board when there were ( my opinion) given an indirect free kick about 5 yards from the goal line.  Keeper, Ian Jones, had just received a yellow card and had to leave the field so Cole Forsythe stepped in.  Players and keeper packed the goal line and were able to keep the Spartans from scoring.  With minutes left in the match, Hayden Earl fought hard to win the ball from the Murray defense and was able to cross the ball in front of the goal to Ervin Huremovic.  Ervin got on the end of the cross and sent the ball to the back of the net. The game finished with the score of 2-0 and earned Olympus the Region 6 Championship.  The Titans will play at Skyline High School on Friday, May 3rd at 3:30.  It should be better weather, so come and support!  Keep it up Olympus Soccer!
